Comments
Comments: It was a very misty, gray, chilly day and the trail was very, very wet and icy. We typically hike very fast, but today we had to move slowly and deliberately because the rocks (and rock steps) had just enough of an ice coating to be completely treacherous. The leaves, mud, and dirt were more preferable surfaces to step on than the lovely steps. We finally broke down and donned microspikes just below the Sosman Trail junction The spikes remained on all the way to the top, and most of the way back down the mountain. What a difference!! I'm not quite sure why we were so stubborn in putting them on? Tis the season.
