| Comments: |
I was section hiking the AT from the Gentian Pond to Mt Success to complete NH. Yeah! Overnight end in the shelter with the Thru-hikers. 7 total. Austin Brook Trail to the shelter was easy. Mahoosuc Trail to the summit was not bad altho it rained for 30 minutes- just enough to get a little slippery. The summit of Mt Success is very muddy in spots. There's a lot of bog bridges but many are crumbling. I stepped up to my ankle in one spot. The descent was slow and tricky taking longer than planned. If all you want to do is climb Success, climb it from Success Pond Road. Much easier and faster. |
