The one right near the start before the bridges was a little bit tricky. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The trails were much more dry than wet two days after a major rain event. The steep parts were almost completely dry. One rung on the wooden ladder is broken. The flatter spots had some puddles and mud but nothing serious. |

If you're a dog who is half mountain goat, you'll make it look easy. Other dogs may want to skip this one. |

Like many of the hikers, they slept in in the morning and showed up in increasing numbers as the day went along. |

| Comments: |
I barely saw anyone until reaching the summit area, but had to wait for tens of uphill hikers to pass as I was descending. One young man hiking barefoot said it was one of the easiest hikes he had done that way; not sure if he used Beaver Brook or Asquam Ridge. Right around the area of the sign warning about avoiding tragic results, I met a group of approximately three men, five women (one pregnant), and ten children aged 5-8, all wearing flip flops and bathing suits, and four of the adults were carrying fishing poles. They asked me how far up it was to the top of the cascades. I diplomatically told them that I didn't think it would be a safe place to take the children for a swim, and that they were unlikey to catch any fish there. |
