Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues on this section of the dry river trail (see last post-the one right before the shelter is a little tricky). The crossing at the bottom of Mt. Clinton trail was tricky, but rock hopable.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I think I missed something leaving the shelter as the trail ceased. After retracing step a couple times I assumed it washed out and began to bushwhack along the river. Eventually, I climbed further from the river to find the obvious path. I don't know if this was a relocation and i was on the old route, or if I just was not paying attention. The dry river trail remains rough up to the hut. A fair amount of blowdown. Not bad to follow. The Mt. Clinton trail is in very rough shape. It is getting over grown and the footbed is not obvious. All crossings are marked with ribbons, which was a big help. The sign is missing at the junction with Dry river cuttoff. The trail is especially hard to find right at the bottom where it meets the dry river trail. It crosses the river and washout area diagonally following small carains/ribbon.

Comments
Comments: I hit some very deep snow higher up on the Dry river trail. Fortunately, it was very firm. The top of the dry river trail climbs a snowfield that one should have traction or light traction for (I did not and was okay). Almost no snow of the other trails above treeline. Nice day for presidentials.

The mount clinton trail was an interesting decent given it deteriorating condition. Foot prints in the mud indicated that others have been on it. The ribbons are a huge help.

Great couple of days in the Dry.
