Comments
Comments: Since the new Bald Knob Trail was opened in the Hebron Town Forest about two years ago, this quiet, under-used route has been a favorite of ours up Bald Knob and then to Mt. Crosby. We combined that with a trip over to Little Pond in the nearby SPNHF Cockermouth Forest property.

A car-spot at the Hebron Town Forest and also at the SPNHF property allowed us an ~8-mile, gentle-moderate hike past Spectacle Pond, up Bald Knob and Mt. Crosby, up the Cliffs Loop for nice views of Little Pond, and then over to Little Pond.

We saw no one else the entire day -- we did run into a black bear with its cubs on Eliza Remick Road, as well as a few beavers at Little Pond.

Trail maintenance notes:

1. Bald Knob Trail from Hebron Town Forest -- footbed is growing back in some sections with a variety of ferns, wild sarsparilla, and beech seedlings, making the trail possibly difficult to follow in a few spots. Given that this trail is barely two years old, some additional foot traffic will probably take care of some of this growth.

2. High Pasture Loop (from Beeline Trail to Eliza Remick Road) -- needs brushing, and footbed is growing in with ferns, seedlings.
