Starting at the parking lot take note the trail now goes to the left through the woods, follow pink ribbons the USFS put up until you cross over the logging road and enter back onto the normal trail. Very well posted and marked. You should not have any problems. |

I hiked in solo, enjoyed the summit all to myself. The start of the Moat Trail from the south is a nice change seeing as though there was minimal rocks or roots to step over for the majority of the hike. The last mile or so is pretty steep up and over rocks and ledges. Many gorgeous views from the back of S. Moat of the Pemi & gorgeous views from up top.
