this report is for the 1,339 peak in wolfeboro that stands out on the left when driving rt 16 north through the tornado damaged area in ossipee. i followed the unmarked road past a couple cellar holes and an open well finding the first blazes at a potential split in the road where the trail continues straight ahead. the road goes downhill for a bit then the white blazed trail leaves to the right. the footbed is vague, but the route is very well blazed running through an area of logging where i encountered a large porcupine. it then climbs up to the high point and continues down to an open ledge. views are great to maine and the eastern whites. the register container at the summit has a broken lid. i was able to add a new notebook and put everything in a new ziploc which will protect it for a bit, but it needs a new jar/canister. |
