| Comments: |
A few inches of fresh powder on the trail changed things up a little bit. Most people wore microspikes today
This trail is in far better shape than I was expecting with the heavy foot traffic. The monorail is becoming pitched on either side so microspikes or snowshoes helped stay on solid footing. I wore spikes on the ascent from the 3rd crossing up to the ridge and them switched over to snowshoes. On the descent I wore snowshoes from the summit to the 3rd crossing.
Lower sections of the trail were pretty muddy and wet, but "unavoidable" is not what I would consider appropriate for these conditions. |
