We put on spikes before the big dip (at about 1 mile from the trailhead). Since the temps did not rise above 40 degrees, we wore microspikes all day. if it gets warmer or there is a lot of direct sunshine, i would were snowshoes. there are plenty of deep postholes on the sides of the monorail most likely from the warmer temps last week. we took the left branch to the summit because the right didn'tt seem to have had much travel. the sosman trail over to the ski trails is a mess. we sledded down the ski trails. great day :) |
