Comments
Comments: Started in micros, switched to snowshoes at the beginning of the Brutus Bushwhack, left them on until back at Black Pond then micros the rest of the way. Lincoln Woods was an uneven frozen lumpy mess but a bit better on the way out from the day's traffic. Black Pond trail was a bit better and smoother. Black Pond bushwhack went a little higher than normal and came out about 50-100 yards before the usual spot, but still a nice path with no major issues (and we were just happy to have a well-trodden path to follow) . Lincoln Brook trail was a nice cruise and had some of the best footing of the day. Brutus bushwhack was the best we've been on - it goes a bit high at first towards the gully, then after the left turn it meanders through some lovely woods and though steep at times, it seemed less so than other ones we'd been on. Well worn path the whole way up and on the ridge walk to the summit. Quick decent including some good butt sliding stretches (my crunchy knees were much appreciative of that!) Uneventful walk out and no headlamps needed. Lots of blue sky and sun for us today, seemed like all of the surrounding ridges were in the clouds most of the day. I realize a lot of this report won't be too relevant after Tuesday, but wanted to post in case anyone is headed there tomorrow and because there hadn't been anything in a while - as of now everything is well broken out, the big crossings are all bridged and BBW is lovely. Great to see a bunch of familiar friendly faces along the way - thanks Ali and Hannah for a great day, it was a perfect day for this one!
