Comments
Comments: The forecast decreased the winds and we decided to go for it. Headed up Jewell to George. Spikes the whole way, snow shoes got a free ride all day. A little soft up Jewell Trail, usual icy spots on George, across Clay it was soft and some post holes were left. Going up Jefferson went smooth and it was great to run into Jeff and Nancy, same place I saw them last winter! Coming down Jefferson into Edmunds Col was an adventure, the snow was a hard crust crossing the snow field so steps were hard to kick in making for a wild ride. Lost the trail completely heading to Adams and just walked across the snow. On Adams met some very nice people and exchange photos, on the way down, who do I run into? The one and only Pepper with John right behind! Great to see you boys out. Then down a little farther, Dave Lynch and Thor. Great to meet some folks at the hut and off to Madison we went. Pellets of snow stinging our faces on the way up, turned to big flakes on the way down. Snow to the car. Valley way was in good shape. Lots of soft snow up high but no major ice bulges to deal with made it a quick decent. 7 hrs 40 min car to car. Thank you Dan and the Monkeys Uncle for another great day out!
