Comments
Comments: Lower two thirds of the trail was generally frozen granular hardpack with assorted postholes and occasional bare patches (from runoff). Maybe 6-12" of snowpack down low.
Higher up, snowpack increased to perhaps a couple of feet. The packed footbed deviates west from the trail near the first ledges. I tracked out the track on the way down. No recent traffic heading northbound on the Davis Path beyond the Crawford summit spur. All ledges are well covered. Upper elevations had a few inches to a foot of powder on top of the hard pack.
I wore snowshoes roundtrip without issue, but this route could be barebooted (probably better with light traction) until the next weather event.
Fantastic clear views from the summit and very nice temperatures.
