Comments
Comments: Great day for a winter hike, not by the calender, but it feltand looked like it. Snow depths were 3-4 inches, but mostly packed out on the Garfield and the Gale river tr. The Garfield Ridge trail was much less traveled, covered with fresh powder, but again only 3-4 inches, snow shoes not needed. Light traction is recommended for traversing the down sections. Some of the Garfield ridge trail has large areas of snow covered ice. The Galehead hut is closed, but its a great place to take a break in the sun and enjoy the view
