Spikes very helpful on final 0.1 mil ledges to summit after Mead Trail junction. Before that ice was limited to the steeper sections and mostly avoidable. Clouded up at summit but still a great views of the Tris and hope to return again sometime. Enjoyed hiking in just shirtsleeves for most of day. Late start at nearly 2 pm made the last 45 min a headlamp hike but we managed. What a wonderful way to start the thanksgiving week being grateful for mountains and exercise and the ones I love the most. |
