Comments
Comments: This hike brought us to Gardner Ridge, Lyman NH, #90 on the list of 93 fire towers that are standing, once stood or were proposed. We had to summit 4 peaks on the ridge, because they were not sure which one the fire tower was on. There was a signal tower and Signal Mountain and the remains from that tower are still there. The hike involved using logging roads and bushwhacks to hit all 4 peaks. Signal was the hardest peak of the 4 to bushwhack to due to the forest being more dense getting there. Everything was also wet from the previous days storms, so we got soaked. The majority of the remaining bushwhack was through open woods. We did meet Pete the Porcupine along the way. The weather wasn’t the greatest and it did sleet on us as we made our way back down from the ridge.
