cynthia wanted to get out for a couple of hours and needed Indian Head for 52wav so this was a logical choice. Took southern branch up, which basically follows a brook bed for much of the way..quite wet from recent storms, mud and wet leaves complicated things. Great views from the summit ledge..cloud line around 4500, rime and snow noted on moose and franconia ridge and we saw some sleet. Quite blustery and cold in places. Northern branch a much better foot bed through lovely and still bright hardwoods. Nice down hill road walk back to the car. Thanks Cynthia for a nice day. |
