| Water Crossing Notes: |
Took shoes off and waded for several crossings, but, it didn't matter because I slipped on a rock in the crossing near the intersection of the Desolation Trail and the Carrigain Notch Trail and fell in. Other crossings on Nancy Pond and bog bridges were slippery slides... slid there too. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Major newer blowdown on backside of Carrigain (on the Desolation Tr) coming off the summit. Other places in the Wilderness had many of the usual stepovers. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
plenty of them - plus, lots of water :) |
|
| Bugs: |
one or two biting, plus, possibly a tick later in the car |

| Comments: |
Was hoping the rain would hold off until mid-afternoon but it started well before noon just as I reached the summit.... downpours on and off the rest of the day. Did this as a bike spot - left my bike at the Nancy Pond Trailhead and biked back uphill to Signal Ridge Trailhead - the last 2 miles uphill were a little grueling - maybe would have been faster to run.
Jogged most of the flats until things were just too slippery down from Nancy Pond. Good views down into Carrigain Notch, as usual. Lots of people out and about!!!! |
