Hiking Trail Conditions Report

Trails
Trails: Old Clough Road, Quarry Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Monday, September 29, 2014
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked near the cable across Glidden Road (ie Old Clough Road). Cars would be wise to not go beyond the pavement, as there were a few large rocks, as well as an area with a high middle berm on the dirt section. Room for a few high clearance vehicles to park adjacent to the cable without blocking it, but very little room otherwise.

Comments
Comments: Thank you to gumbyhiker for his recent conditions report which put this on my radar.
Trails were mostly dry and in good shape. Old Clough Road is generally brushhogged, so not too bad as far as old logging roads go. Quarry Trail is rugged in places, but nice in the vicinity of West Quarry. Nearing East Quarry, there are some areas of heavy weed growth from old logging operations, but trail can still be followed with relative ease. It should also be noted that the highpoint of West Quarry is *not* at the sign, but rather off the opposite side of the trail, maybe 100 feet to the north, on a ledge marked with a cairn.
Some spectacular foliage colors throughout.
