| Water Crossing Notes: |
Rock hopping, but one bridge just S. of Goose Pond Rd. is very weak and springy. It should be replaced soon.
8 or 10 more bog bridges to replace @ beaver dam N. of Goose Pond Rd. from materials stored close by. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Entire trail we hiked is brushed out and adequately blazed. All steeper slopes need many more steps and waterbars. Existing waterbars are clogged with several years' debris and have failed. Two new waterbars just N. of Holts Ledge are not angled enough and already catching debris. Very nice bit of rock turnpike before TJ shelter, hope to see more like that in future. 2 or 3 sites where revetting under trail tread or more rock steps could stabilize a steep and risky sidehill tread. |
