| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
On Rte 113 parking area for two or three cars just south of west terminus of Haystack Notch Trail. Tons of room at end of Morrill Road. Our cars were the only ones out there today. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Surprisingly nice trails and not difficult to follow even in wilderness designated areas. about a 200 foot section of Miles Notch just north of Red Rock Trail intersection needs to be brushed. At last water crossing before western terminus of Haystack Notch there is a blow down that needs a bigger saw to remove it than the one I carry |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
If I had a dog I would have taken the pup |
|
| Bugs: |
I was telling Amicus that on the southern end of Miles Notch that Rocket got stung and Amicus replied he has not been stung in ten years. Not far up Haystack Notch he yelps because he got stung on his wrist by a rouge wasp! Otherwise bugs 0, stings 1. |

| Comments: |
We met on 113 at the Haystack Notch Trailhead and left one car there and drove to the end of Morrill Road (after gate stay right, don't be fooled by good looking log landing driveway on left). We went up and back on Miles Notch to intersection with Red Rock Trail before heading across on Haystack Notch Road. Very nice forests and trails in fine condition. Curious about a trail/logging road that Haystack Trail crosses, arrows and blazes kept us easily on the right path. Nice relaxing day and only rained on us lightly the last ten minutes. |
