Comments
Comments: this is the 2,243' peak west of the signal ridge trail head that the trail runs around to the north. i followed the trail for a short distance before leaving the trail and heading up the eastern ridge of the mountain. woods were nice with areas that had seen some select cutting in the past. around 1800 ft i hit a skid road that led up into a not too old, but very overgrown clearcut. i followed the road up through the cut for a bit and found some nice views to greens cliff, tripyramid and kancamagus. i then got back into the open woods and continued up some steeper and rocky/ledgy pitches up to the summit area and a bit further on to the small bump that is the highpoint. leaving i dropped a bit east of north, ultimately tracking north, towards the trail finding some real good beech woods with pretty minimal undergrowth and a number of old woods roads down to the signal ridge trail about a mile from the trailhead.

this proved to be an interesting peak with nice woods and lots of old logging activity. with leaves off the trees there were a coule ledgy spots that could have ok views. same out in the cut especially with a snow base. had been meaning to get up this peak for a while and it made a great short afternoon bushwhack.
