Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking is not a problem -- park on the side of the road at Alexandria Four Corners (where Washburn Road ends at the intersection with Grafton and Knowles Hill Roads). Do not block anyone's driveway, please.

Trail Maintenance Notes: South of Crane Mountain, some brushing and minor removal of blowdowns would be helpful, as well as some re-blazing (some blazes have worn off over time or the blazed trees have fallen down).

Bugs: Thar be bugs in them thar hills...black flies, skeeters and an occasional tick.

Comments: A very nice trail and a great hike -- I'll be back (with some tools for brushing and blowdown removal) this year a few more times for certain. Except for some muddy, boggy portions in the col prior to Orange Mountain, this trail is remarkably dry and mud-free.
