Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: There is a big new hikers' parking loop at the extended end of Randolph Hill Road, with a kiosk for Randolph Community Forest, and the Mt. Crescent and Randolph Notch Trails have new starts, separately, from there or thereabouts, replacing the closed trailhead to the east on R. H. Road.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None of note.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The Gulch is hardly "maintained," but blazes are placed strategically. The status of Boothman Spring Cutoff is a mystery to me. The new sign at the west end says it is open all the way to the Crescent House site on Randolph House Road, not closed at the Spring as the AMC 29th Ed. avers, but there is still a "closed" sign on R. H. Road. It is blazed and maintained throughout. From there to the Ice Gulch trailhead is a .4 mile roadwalk, while it would be a mile from the new parking lot.

Bugs: None to speak of.

Comments
Comments: Ice Gulch is a ringer for Mahoosuc Notch, with somewhat smaller boulders but steeper and mossier. It would be better known if it were on the AT.
