Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: My generous wife drove me from Lincoln Woods to Willey House, where the Kedron Flume Trail begins. That took us 55 minutes via the Kanc and Bear Notch Rd. to 302.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Thoreau Falls was an easy rock-hop. Cedar Brook, on the Pemi East Trail, was running a little lower than last weekend, so the rock-hop was easier. No other crossings of note, excepting the rickety "one person only" bridge over the East Branch, near the south end of the Thoreau Falls Trail.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails all in good shape, but there are some rough sections on the Thoreau Falls Trail where it detorus around Irene damage.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Plenty of dogs (and through-hikers) on the Ethan Pond Trail. Thoreau Falls Trail gets little traffic south of the Falls, and the steep sections around storm damage might be tough for some dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: None to speak of.

Comments
Comments: A different Pemi Traverse that will be never be as popular as the route over the Bonds, but the Thoreau Falls Trail offers solitude south of the Falls and old logging RR ambiance, plus of course the Falls, where nearly 20 people were enjoying the scenery when I got there around noon.
