The Old Toll Rd and White Arrow trail is unquestionably the easiest way to climb Monadnock. It took about 2:30 RT. The trail is mostly as you would expect from Monadnock, but there is a 1/4 mile stretch that starts off with barebootable monorail and ends with an insurmountable ice fall that must be circumvented, although easily done. I give the ice on this trail about another week to live, but its hardly an obstacle at this point. Many people out on the trails today. |
