Great trail conditions for the Crawford path. The rail was solid and not every post holed. Ice on the summit as well as bare rock for Pierce. Lots of drifts going to the hut form Pierce and I spent a lot of time crashing into trees. Lots of post holes and the descent to the hut was "interesting". Webster Cliff trail to Jackson was broken out and I rebroke it with my snowshoes to further pack it down. Heading to Jackson from this side was steep and icy. Could have used crampons but kept my snow shoes on. Heading down the Webster Jackson was steep and bare rock. Tricky at best. the lower I got the more unstable the monorail became. Mashed potatoes by the time I got back to the road. Great day for us! |
