Comments
Comments: Great day out. Not much snow left down low & bare booted until after stream crossings. After turn off for Bald peak, trail unbroken from last storm earlier in week leaving a few inches of wet snow down low and drifting snow heading up near the Kinsman Ridge. Used snowshoes to try to keep on the monorail which was more solid as the elevation went up. One bonus of an unbroken trail is seeing all the animal tracks& even saw a bear track crossing the Mt Kinsman Trail. I was happy to find people tracks on Kinsman Ridge Trail and even happier seeing snowshoe tracks North to South Peak. I used snowshoes during the traverse for traction as steeps are getting icy. No postholing today but if it gets warmer then I am sure postholing will resume up there.
