Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The trail head for the Carter Moriah trail is hard to find if you park on Mill Street then you have to cross the footbridge and once across you will want to take a right as if you are going to the last house on the street. There and only there you will see the trail marker just below the homeowner's No Parking Sign. Pretty pathetic as there are no other markers to help locate the trail head.

Comments
Comments: Good day for a hike once I found the trail head with the help of John and Chris who I met at the parking lot off Mill Street in Gorham. The trail was ice and loose granular snow with some steeper icy sections at Mt. Surprise and up to Mt. Moriah. I was able to bare boot to the summit and put on micro-spikes for the return. I enjoyed hiking with John and Chris and the view from Moriah is well worth the long up hill hike to its peak.
