Comments
Comments: some running water on lower major trail then relatively dry until making the turn at the brook trail junction. some spotty snow/ice from there up to the ledges all mostly avoidable. lower ledges mostly snow/ice free. i used the bypass around the main ledges as they were still pretty heavily cloaked in ice and snow. the bypass had some ice and crusty snow that required some care as did the section right above where the bypass reconnects with the main trail. light traction would be helpful, but i got through ok in boots. above that it was clear sailing with dry ledge to the summit. boulder loop trail was snow/ice free and relatively dry up high and on the upper steeps. farther down there were a couple short stretches of snow left from what fell the other night along with some running/standing water, but mostly it had clear trail.

i carried light traction, but did ok without using it.

great evening hike to major. enjoyed a nice sunset and the late day views.
