Barebooted the minimal snow covered Lincoln Woods trail. A few inches of new / sticky snow on the Black Pond trail. Leaving the Pond, we bushwhacked the Burlwood route, which travels North. More wet - sticky - almost mushy snow there. Snow depth increased the further we traveled into the Pemi. We noted tracks of one snowshoer from one / two days prior that pushed all the way to just beyond the slide "trail" & turned back. We bushwhacked the Deep Snow route to the North of the Slide, in a snowpack that was 3 feet deep and deeper... made it to 3150' and turned back. *Looking up at the mountain side as we traveled Lincoln Brook trail,
it looked like the Brutie Bushwhack terrain might be full of leaning snow covered trees. But we could be wrong............ |
