Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: A fine large parking lot that was almost full when we returned to the car. 
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Ice - Blue, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth 
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction 
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The first crossing of the Brook trail required a short trip up into the woods to get across. The second crossing was easily done. The other trails had not streams. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One downed tree on the Brook trail with a herd trail around it. 
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The Express and Mt. Major trail require some ledge scrambling. There was a lot of ice on the trail today but Lauky and all the other dogs I saw today seemed to be handling the ice pretty well.

Comments
Comments: The hike today with almost no snow and lots of ice was like a mid to late fall hike. The view from the summit of Major are outstanding and good from the summit of Staightback.
