Comments
Comments: Trail was steep and wet, but a quick route to the tower. The recognized highpoint of Big Spencer is a bushwhack from the towers. The bushwhack started thick and really didn't let up for the entire route. We went to three bumps, one recognized and two with strings from past recognition. We followed the ridge crossing over the sub bumps towards the SW peaks. Going was slow and thick, but never terrible. We had best luck favoring the west to avoid cliffs on the way up to the recognized summit of the SW peak. We returned by a very similar route. The going was very slow due to thick woods. 9 hrs. to go less than 8 mi.
