| Comments: |
Snowshoed up the AT from the end of Stratton Pond Road; fairly easy (3-4 inches of snow over a harder base) up until the Cranberry Pond Trail split off, then untouched snow (2-3 ft with deeper drifts, especially up high) all the way to South Horn. Turned around at South Horn and then went down via Horns Pond Trail back to Firewarden Trail (Horns Pond Trail untracked). Beautiful day for it. Snowshoes the weapon of choice...my running snowshoes were a little small for the job, especially in the deeper snow up top. Very limited amounts of ice, easy to navigate around. |
