Trail was surprisingly dry after hard mid-day rain. The trails were easy to follow and the stone steps and rock work is keeping the trails in good shape for all the heavy use by thousands of hikers now and into the future. We enjoyed big views over to the Bee Hive and of cruise ships on the ocean, Sandy Beach and far away islands. Nice to get one more hike in (early in the morning we hiked along the Ocean at Wonderland). Lots and lots of people out hiking and walking. We stopped by the Thunderhole but the water was not that exciting (so many people) but walking along the ocean enjoying the sound and even the smell was fun. On ride back on the Loop Road we stopped by Otter Cliffs and there were a few wet rock climbers that admitted they were mostly slipping around. So much to explore and do at Acadia National Park. Thank you Fran and Carey and Charlie too. |
