The access road from the south is posted No Trespassing with another sign that says access is granted with permission (active quarry operation with potential blasting). I got the okay from a worker so I headed up with hopes of seeing the sunset from the summit.
Access road was initially clear (patchy snow in the woods). A pop up snowstorm moved in, initially melting and turning into black ice, making the paved road (all the way to the highpoint) very slippery and blocking the views. About 1.35 miles from the gate to the summit.
Very nice summit though with what looks like 360 degree views, picnic tables, and a sign about the mountain. Appears to be a trail coming in from the west as well. |
