Comments
Comments: Began from the Abol Bridge parking area on 2/10/17. Four of us on this adventure, four days, three nights staying at the one of the cabins on Daicey Pond. Foss Knowlton Pond Trail, Lost Pond Trail to Daicey Pond. Snow shoes recommended. Cold temps, not reaching above 5 all day. Foss Knowlton, Lost and Daicey Ponds all safe to cross this day. Arrived to a cold cabin, got the stove cranked up pretty quick. Spent the next two full days hiking around in the area then walked out in the Monday blizzard, 2/13 via the tote road as we were concerned the trails we took in would be difficult to break through high depths, still had to perform "alternate breaking" all the way out. Thanks to Paul, Todd and Dave for keeping this a great winter tradition, going five years strong! There is nothing like Baxter in the dead of winter!
