This is the continuation of a hike posted to West Royce on the same day. I am posting a separate report because we split our group and because e. royce is in ME and w. royce is in NH. Two of us from the w. royce hike went on to east. bryan said he could 'take it or leave it' and kindly headed down with another from the group who was ready to call it at West.
Snow was supportive, making for easy breaking to the spur up East Royce. Higher up, there was some drifting. All rock was snow covered, making for an easy snowshoe up. We walked the ridge, going over a few bumps, including the highpoint. We stopped at the northern viewpoint, where there is a transmission station. This is my favorite view on the mountain. |
