Trail Maintenance Notes: 1 significant blow down a few hundred yards before the turnoff for the Shelter. Awkward to skirt under it with a full pack. Some spots coming down the Table Rock trail could have been marked better - there were some head scratchers in that boulder chute.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: some grey plastic sunglasses up near the summit of Baldpate West.

Comments
Comments: A challenging and steep hike to get Baldpate East off the NEHH list. The descent into the saddle from Baldpate West would be impossibly dangerous without traction. We were able to bare boot up to West, and then after the saddle, we also bare booted up to the summit of West. The ledges over on West were extremely exposed and windy. Don't be fooled by the large cairn atop the ledges - the Summit has two signs on it, and is maybe a tenth of a mile further. We found the Table rock route for our descent very taxing also with full packs. You lose about 1,000' of elevation rather quickly.
