Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We parked on Mt. Road, just above the inn, across from the chain gate. Steve picked me up on the other end, at the junction of Enid Melrose Road and Adams Road. He was able to drive up about a half mile closer... but I hiked out to the main road as that's where the trailhead sign was... and I wanted to redline the full trail for 'sure.'

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails were largely in good condition and easy to follow. The exception, was the lower 2 miles of Cold Brook Tr. Logging roads, private activity, snomo trails and a lack of blazing... made this section a bit tricky to follow... and I was glad to have hiked this section downhill...which was easier to follow than hiking it uphill.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Skipper had a great day smelling coyote scat galore!!... but the trails were dry and we carried water for him.

Comments
Comments: Absolutely beautiful fall hiking day. Views going up to Speckled from this southern approach were spectacular.
