Comments
Comments: Great loop, we did it in the early morning before the rain and the colors of the foliage were just bursting and the ocean sparkled! Good vistas in so many places lovely stonework this was a great 2.5 mile loop. The wind was blowing white caps on Long Pond as we did the short hike up the Long Pond Trail along the pond's edge to reach the Perpendicular Trailhead. The CCC built trail was everything it was promised and more, more than 1100 stone steps and a lot of pavers... Views to the ocean, the pond and nice sight to Beech Mountain and its fire tower. Returning via the Razorback trail crossing the open ledgy faces with a long vista to the ocean was a nice way to finish. Acadia is a special place and the heavily used trails are well preserved by excellent trail design. Thanks Charlie for hiking with me.
