plenty of parking at the kiosk on Stratton Brook Pond Rd. Continuing past the kiosk is possible with high clearance, and a willingness to ford pools across the road. Easy enough to walk this section. |

| Comments: |
Very humid hike up, and hazy views from the top, but the rain was light enough to not make it through the tree canopy. Avery tentsite has been improved considerably since I was last there in 2000. Great day along this fun ridge.
Note: When you reach the Avery Tent site near the ridge on the Firewardens Trail, the first intersection (with a "Water" sign), if you look left you will see a blue blaze. This is not the Firewardens Trail. This is just for water. The trail continues to the right. There is a herd path passing a revegetation area sign - this goes nowhere. |
