Parking/Access Road Notes: Easy drive in on SBP Rd. Most cars at lot by first kiosk, a few at turn before significant ponding across track, one at end by new foot bridge.

Trail Maintenance Notes: Trunk across lower FW was a duck under. Tree crown on upper FW forcing hikers to track out a diversion. Many bog bridges need replacing. New signage very clear.

Bugs: Early hour and breezy conditions kept most at bay until late afternoon ambush along lower FW and Stratton Brook Pond.

Comments: A fine Independence Day outing on excellent trails. Hats off to all the rock work of years ago, especially up FW to Avery Col camp site. Pleasant reception by caretaker at Horns Pond who pointed the way to a refreshing swim before the final walk out.
