| Water Crossing Notes: |
Good amount of water running across the trail at many points. Rock hopping where possible, and circumventing some areas completely. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Nothing major, other than a good portion of the trail on the final ascent to West Peak being a running stream. I moved a rock at one point to block where a little brook was overflowing into the trail and that helped alot on that one piece. |

My little dog handled it well, although he had to wade through some water in a several places. |

First ascent to the back side of the Table Rock trail was wet, but decent enough. The portion that levels out up to the base of Baldpate had a great deal of standing water in many places that slowed you down and forced you to either go around or find ways across. The ascent up to West Peak was fairly treacherous. A lot of running and standing water in the way, forcing you to find ways around. Wet rocks made this very tricky. Finally ran into a huge ice dam about 5 or 10 minutes from the summit. Probably would have been do-able with a pick and crampons, but I didn't have them with me. Didn't like the looks of the woods around the ice, and I didn't want to put my dog through it, so I finally decided to give up and hike back. Quite a bummer. The amount of water coming off of Baldpate and Ol' Speck was insane and impressive. |
