Comments
Comments: We parked a short ways in past the usual winter parking spot. Barebooted the snowmobile trails to summer Firewarden's Trail and on Firewarden's to Horns Pond Trail jct. There was 4-8 inches fresh powder in old snowshoe track from there on, so snowshoes on to the summit and back. When we reached the AT, there were some tracks from the south. Deep drifts around Horns Pond Leantos. Snowshoed the steep 1/2 mile to South Horn, televators appreciated. Summit socked in, but still a good day out in the Maine woods. Thanks to Joyce for joining me for a peaceful hike and 2 great days of Maine hiking.
