This was our apres hike hike--let's go over to Albany Brook Trail. Crocker and Round Ponds are low, maybe as much as 3 feet low! Rocks and logs and such above surface of the water were very interesting to see. Since this trail feels more like a feature at a far away campground this trail is on my "you got to be kidding me this is in the guide book" but on the other hand I was happy to see these pretty ponds. Trail is lightly used but clear with occasional mud pit. The trial is not flat and hikes like a trail. Took us longer to drive there from the intersection of Rte 113 and 2 and back than it took us to hike. The Albany Mountain Trail and Albany Mountain are worth the trip but I wasn't able to tie in this trail when I did that hike. |
