Jockey Cap is super duper and I will make a point to visit this place again on a super clear day. What this big piece of granite is doing here I have no idea why but what a splendid easy hike! We followed yellow blazes to the summit and was surprised to meet the only person I know from Fryeburg standing on top! There is a beautiful monument to Admiral Peary, resident of Fryeburg and Artic Explorer! It is a bronze compass pointing the way to mountain profiles and names. We went around the base and checked out the rock climbing areas and found the Cave among the big boulders. Fun place and can't wait to visit it again. |
