| Surface Conditions: |
Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Small Patches |

|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
First river branch crossing was doable with some creative rock-hopping. Second I walked up and down both ways and in the end had to wade a bit downstream of the former bridge. Not ideal. Other streams easily crossed stepping on rocks. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots and lots of trees down (some that are still down from last time I was there, October 2013). Big ones too. Trail could really use someone out there with a chainsaw, gonna take some effort. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
NA |
|
| Bugs: |
Some black flies near the water especially |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Blue women's large LL Bean fleece about 3.5 (?) miles in. Wet and looks like it had been chewed on by animals. Left it by the trail where I found it--too wet to haul down comfortably! |

This trail isn't going to see much use if the river crossings and blowdowns don't get taken care of. They have nice signs on the road but for even an intrepid hiker like me, I found these things a pain to deal with. And WHAT HAPPENED to the fire tower??? It is lying in a heap on the windward side of the summit... I have a hard time believing the wind wrenched it off, or it must have been one super wild storm. |
