Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: This trail is going to need a lot of TLC. For first 2.5 miles a few older blowdowns; beginning about .5 mile below SPruce Hill junction sporadic blowdowns that are easily gotten over or under, from SPruce hill junction to the summit it was blowdown hell! Blowdowns, branches and tree tops litter this trail segment - too numerous to count - it may just be easier to call it a 1.2 mile blowdown cluster. Lots of climbing over and under and around various blowdowns and patches. Fortunately most are small trees. I did trim some branches in spots just to create a way through some of the more troublesome spots.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Normally a great canine trail but may want to wait for a little cleaning
Bugs
Bugs: Yes they are out- bug spray and a breeze at the summit kept them away

Comments
Comments: May want to put this one on the back burner awaiting a little trail work - But other than the blowdowns a great day to be out on the trail, nice and sunny in Evans Notch and after making the summit great sunny view, warm temps, and just enough breeze to keep the bugs away. Stretch up to SPruce hill junction is dry with a few spot of mud and minor patches of snow. From SPruce hill junction to the summit there were long patches of snow in places 3-4 deep still but for the most part would bear weight - only post holed a few times. Blowdowns did create quite a challenge - took me over an hour to cover the last 1.2 miles trying to find my way through the endless stretch of blowdowns but the extra work made summiting all that more sweet!
