Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Rte 113 has numerous frost heaves so drive carefully. Parking is currently on Stone House road (on the right about a mile down from the Baldface Loop lot) - road is only open for about 1/4 mile and there is a spot cleared alongside the road right before the snowmobile trail heads to the right with room of 2 cars with room for another car just beyond the snowmobile trail - road is muddy with some deep holes. You'll need to walk up stone house road a mile to the actual trailhead.

Comments
Comments: Spring has arrived with spring snow nearly the length of the trail - road still has up to a foot in some places but was solid enough to walk. Stone house trail has snow from a few inches deep at the start with several feet in places up top. Slick spring snow at the start with patches of hardened snow at the top where there is tree cover. There are patches without snow cover which are a mix of dry trail, some mud and running water. Plenty of snow still up top but ledges are becoming clear. Trail has only seen boot traffic so there are numerous post holes - not a problem down low but deep up top. Snowshoes would be more of a hindrance than help but trail was solid enough to manage with boots. A few patches of ice and along with the slick snow traction was helpful coming down the steep stretch. Short side trips to the flume and pool are well worth it. Sunny with nice views from the ledges today. A couple of pair of boot tracks heading up Blueberry ridge though not packed out.
