It seemed like a good idea the night before (not having hiked in Maine this winter).... and we were happy to see someone had broken out the AT. But after .5 miles the broken track ended. We slogged slowly, breaking deep snow, in very cold temps... and after six hours we had only gotten to about 3100'. As it got steep, we slowed to a crawl.
That said... it was a grand day out with Gorbo (who still needs No. Crocker in winter), Ken R., Dick W., Steve Z. and Dave U. |
